Designed for all ages, this community-centered arts engagement initiative connects people more deeply to the performances at The Center through workshops, artist conversations, masterclasses, and hands-on creative experiences. Developed in collaboration with artists, educators, and community partners, S.P.A.R.K. fosters creativity, curiosity, connection, and lifelong learning while strengthening the role of the arts in our Southland community.

Experience the vibrant traditions of Mexico with Mexico Beyond Mariachi’s interactive Music and Dance Workshop, focused specifically on the dance and music repertoire from SUGAR SKULL! A Dia de Muertos Musical Adventure.

Workshop Highlights:
Participants will learn one of the following dance styles/choreographies: Aztec/Meshica Danza, Son Jarocho from Veracruz, or Baile de los Viejitos from Michoacan.

Participants will develop the ability to recognize and communicate with others in a supportive, creative, and fun environment of their own making.

At the conclusion of the workshop, everyone will have the opportunity to perform the complete dance, celebrating their achievements as both performers and audience members.

The Doo Wop Project Masterclass

The Doo Wop Project presents an engaging, all-ages exploration of America’s beloved Doo Wop tradition. Through live performances, vocal demonstrations, audience participation, and behind-the-scenes stories, participants will discover the history and evolution of the genre, learn how harmonies are built, and even sing alongside the group. The experience concludes with a Q&A featuring insights into life on Broadway and careers in the performing arts.
